Description and Outcomes
The Waste4Change Programme provides a comprehensive curriculum that covers essential skills such as leadership, communication, problem-solving, and innovation. Through interactive methods, participants gain proficiency in these areas while developing a holistic understanding of the sustainable economic impact, particularly in the waste management sector in rural South Africa.
Starting with a 5-Day Bootcamp that introduces entrepreneurial concepts to ignite innovation, we enable participants to start or grow successful and sustainable businesses.
Programme Activities
Participants engage in a variety of activities, including:
- Environmental and waste awareness workshops
- A blend of theoretical and practical training sessions
- Monthly group mentoring sessions
- Accreditation: This 12-month skills training programme will be facilitated by SAIWEDT, and the accompanying course materials hold accreditation by TETA and are currently endorsed by QCTO.
- Qualification: Upon successful completion of all SETA requirements, participants will earn a National Certificate in Environmental Practice (SAQA 49605-Level 2) with 128 credits on NQF Level 2.
- Objectives: The Waste Management and Recycling Programme equips participants with new opportunities, tools, and skills while fostering a positive environmental impact.
By participating in this programme, individuals contribute to the creation of products and services derived from waste materials, aligning with our business training initiatives focused on sustainable entrepreneurship.
