Festival of Joy

Our Festival of Joy events are aimed at creating a joyful community gathering during the holiday season. This sponsored event ensures a positive outcome by providing a safe environment for the community to come together, making a meaningful impact on the region it serves.
Angels are deeply committed to promoting peaceful and inclusive communities. We do this by addressing critical social challenges and offering hope to those involved, by fostering collaboration and strengthening social ties. This focus on unity and understanding is essential in building harmonious communities and reducing tensions.
The overarching goal of this outreach programme is to foster community cohesion and collaboration, alleviate social challenges, and provide hope and joy to rural children and adults in these communities.
Description and Outcomes
The programme’s approach of engaging rural children and adults in joyful, lighthearted activities serves as a powerful tool for conflict resolution and community building, laying the groundwork for lasting peace. Additionally, by creating equitable opportunities and potentially partnering with various stakeholders, the programme contributes to enhancing social cohesion and overall community well-being.
We encourage local non-profit organizations (NPOs) to participate in the inaugural event, with the intention of passing the torch to them for future editions. This approach not only fosters community ownership but also provides NPOs with an annual fundraising opportunity, making it an event that is truly hosted for the community, by the community.

Highlights from our community Festival of Joy events - Dec 2023!
In December 2023 three sponsored events were held in the Hantam Region towns of Brandvlei, Niewoudtville and Loerisfontien. Our preparations for these events were a wonderful example of collaboration and community involvement. The dedicated Angels team and enthusiastic community members served approximately 1,590 children (1-12 year olds) and their families, who attended these three festivals.
