1 000 PAIRS OF SOCKS ARE WINGING THEIR WAY TO RURAL SCHOOL CHILDREN IN SOUTH AFRICA
A generous donation of 1,000 pairs of socks for distribution to rural school children was received by Angels, from Round Table Cape Town 9, in Partnership with Sexy Socks! Impacting rural communities – together!
Angels CEO, Lizelle Coombs, recently had the good fortune of meeting Colston Veater, a young man on a mission! As a member and chairman of the Round Table Cape Town 9, Colston was able to facilitate a donation of 1,000 pairs of good quality bamboo and cotton mix, grey school socks from Sexy Socks to Angels Resource Centres for distribution to school children in the rural communities in South Africa that the NPO serves.
Round Table is an international association of community-based clubs offering a platform for social development, mentoring and networking to young men aged 18 to 40. Like-minded professionals are actively engaged in helping to organise fundraisers and supporting community projects.
With the intention to ensure “More BANG for your BUCK”, Round Table Cape Town 9 works hard to identify strong, established institutions making a difference in their communities, channelling funds and assistance in order to make the biggest difference they can!
Under the Sexy Socks “One for One” campaign, the popular Cape Town based apparel brand promises to donate a pair of school socks to a child in need for each pair of Sexy Socks sold!
Angels Resource Centres are all about change and making an impact in rural communities! As a rural development implementation centre and a registered non-profit organisation, their focus is implementing programmes that ensure development opportunities and upliftment of under-resourced communities in South Africa.

- TWO… Round Table actively searches for and engages in projects where they can assist, to drive impactful change in their communities and support those assisting others in need. They can help find reliable distributors for the consignments of socks needing to be donated, having already assisted in the distribution of over 5,000 pairs of socks to date… enter Angels …
- THREE … Angels works closely within many rural, hard to reach communities and are therefore an ideal distribution partner, able to ensure that the donation of socks is delivered directly to rural schools, for distribution to the children who need them most.
Round Table plays the vital role of connecting with reliable institutions, like Angels, that can distribute donations on behalf of companies, like Sexy Socks, who have physical goods to give away – helping to ensure that their donations actually reach the intended recipients.
Sounds like a perfect fit to me!

Last week saw the first of many donation deliveries as Angels Denise Dookoo dropped off 100 pairs of socks to Hantam Laerskool – a local Junior School in Calvinia, Northern Cape. The Angels team are currently winging our way to rural schools in Pella, Poffadder and Loeriefontein to help make the magic happen!
